Mount Vernon
Michael Reiling, PT, MS, ATC, CSCS, works full time as a physical therapist and is the owner of Ability Physical Therapy. Michael graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training in 1996. He has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 20 years. In 2000, Michael graduated with a Masters of Science degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He has worked in private practice orthopedic physical therapy for 16 years. Michael is a Licensed Physical Therapist, Licensed Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He prides himself as being a skillful clinician with a focus on customer service. Michael has been married for 18 years to Melissa and is a proud father of 4 boys. He is a cub scout leader, active in his community church, and provides medical coverage for sporting events.
Andy Bishop, DPT, received a B.S. degree from Iowa State University in 2005, then onto University of Iowa for a Doctorate of Physical Therapy completed in 2007. Currently lives in Solon, but previously resided in northern Iraq (2010-2014) teaching and coaching basketball with his wife, Lisa and three kids: Zander, Zephie and Zeke. Just joined the therapy team at Ability Physical Therapy, Mount Vernon in January 2015.

Alicia Davis PTA, graduated from Kirkwood Community College in May 2015 and started at Ability Physical Therapy in Mt. Vernon July 2015. She is excited to start her career in physical therapy and see what all this field has to offer. Alicia enjoys playing coed softball and volleyball, camping, spending time with family, volunteering at the county fair, and spending time with her husband Klint and two dogs Mollie and Addison.

Eric Wykert, B.S., PTA, ACSM-CPT, received his BS degree in 2012 from Western Illinois University in Exercise Science and his Associates degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Kirkwood Community College in 2016. Eric is originally from Wapello and now lives in Iowa City. Eric works out of the Ability Physical Therapy office in Mount Vernon and also works as a personal trainer at Elite Fitness in Lisbon.

Ben Johnston, LMT, joined Ability Physical Therapy in May of 2014 as a Licensed Massage Therapist and PT Tech. He graduated from Carlson College in 2011 and has worked for a couple of chiropractors and at Salon 30 prior to finding his home here at Ability Physical Therapy in Mount Vernon. His passion lies in helping people understand how their bodies work, how inflammation can be naturally reduced, and give tools to use at home when pain stops them from living life. He is available at both Mt. Vernon (Monday – Friday) and Marion (every other Wednesday).

Jess Lynch is the office manager for the Mt Vernon location and also will be managing the upcoming Solon location. She graduated in 2017 with an AS in Health Information Technology after 7 years as a stay at home Mom. She lives outside Solon near Cedar Bluff with her fiancé, 3 children, 2 horses and white lab puppy. When not at work she enjoys horseback riding, boating, hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Jen Stoner, has worked for Ability Physical Therapy in Mt Vernon for 7 years. While at work she enjoys helping patients with customer service, coffee, and a smile. She lives outside of Mount Vernon with her husband and 3 kids. She enjoys camping, going on trips, and spending time with her family and friends.
Marion
Jean Hammill, PT, DPT, MA, OCS, ATC, received a BS degree in 1969 in education and taught and coached track, basketball and softball for 7 years. She received her bachelor's degree in 1979, a master's degree in PT in 1993 from the U of I, and her clinical doctorate from St. Ambrose University in 2005. She has been board certified by the American Physical Therapy Association since 1996. She is a nationally certified athletic trainer. Jean has been active with the Iowa Physical Therapy Association serving on the board of directors, as vice president and as president. She has 37 years of experience. She founded Marion Physical Therapy in 1996.

Gregory O' Brien, DPT, CSCS, is the Director of Rehab and the Coordinator of Clinical Education. He has degrees in Exercise Science, Fitness & Human Performance, and is a Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2009 and then began working in a local hospital-based physical therapy group before starting here at Marion Physical Therapy. Greg enjoys spending time with his wife Megan as well as family and friends during his free time.

Rachel Zhorne, DPT received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Iowa in 2017, and joined the Ability Physical Therapy team January, 2018. Rachel is passionate about restoring her patient's to their highest level of physical function, and promoting optimal quality of life. She enjoys watching football/basketball/soccer and spending time with her boyfriend Brian, family, niece and nephews, and her cat Sophie, and dog Scout.​

Wendy Verge, PTA, PNF Certified, received her Associate's degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from St. Petersburg College, FL, in 2008. She has worked at a local hospital group in Inpatient Physical Therapy, as well as continuing to work at several local nursing homes. Wendy joined the therapy team at Marion Physical Therapy in March 2015. She enjoys spending time with her 3 boys and husband in their many adventures.

Amanda Bessler PTA, recieved her Associates degree from Kirkwood as a Physical Therapist Assistant and is currently working and Marion and Center Point Locations part-time.

Sarah Jones, is the Operations Manager for the Marion location. She is also the Billing Manager for all the clinics and has been part of the Marion Physical Therapy family for over 11 years. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends. When she is not chasing around her toddler, she likes to watch football... or just relax.

Lois Ocenosak graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2007 with a BS in Biology. She has worked with the Marion Physical Therapy company since 2003 as Office Support and Physical Therapy Tech. She enjoys a variety of work at the Marion, Center Point, and Mount Vernon Clinics as she fills in for other employees on vacation.

Sadie Sell, LMT, is the Office Manager, Billing Assistant and Licensed Massage Therapist in the Marion office. She is a 2013 graduate of Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Stone City, Iowa. Sadie takes pride in the challenge of tailoring her body work specifically to the person she is working with. Some of the modalities she incorporates are Swedish/Relaxation, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue, Orthopedic and Myofascial Release. Sadie has two children and a Cocker Spaniel, enjoys being involved in extracurricular activities with her girls and loves being outdoors.

Chris Will, B.A., NASM – CPT, SFS, graduated from the University of Iowa in 2005 with a B.A. in Health Promotion. He began his career as a certified personal trainer in Denver, CO, working for 24 Hour Fitness, Life Time Fitness and Colorado Athletic Club. After 5 years in Denver, Chris moved back to Iowa in 2010 and has been at Marion Physical Therapy since 2013. Chris is passionate about helping his clients achieve their goals, whether athletic, fitness and enjoys helping patients and clients transition between the two. Chris enjoys playing and watching all sports, running several fantasy football leagues, and spending time with friends and family. He works out of the Marion Ability Fitness office.

Janet Burbridge, BS, MPT, received her Masters in Physical Therapy from University of Iowa in 1993. She has over 20 years experience working in a variety of settings including the hospital setting, home health, long-term care and out-patient physical therapy. She has been with Marion Physical therapy for 16 years, working at Ability Physical Therapy Center Point for the past 6 years. She and her husband Jon are looking forward to the next chapter in their life, as both children are currently in college.

Kim Simon, DPT, graduated from the University of Iowa with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2004. Prior to joining Ability Physical Therapy in Center Point she had worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting that also provided the opportunity to see patients in the hospital, home health, assisted living and long term care settings. She enjyos working in the outpatient orthopedic setting with a special interest in vestibular rehabilitation and balance disorders. Kim lives in Center Point with her husband and four children. Her “free time” is spent shuttling kids to and from activities, assisting with kids activities and attending CPU and Hawkeye sporting events.

Jennifer Kellogg, BS, PTA, LMT is a physical therapy assistant for Marion Physical Therapy, and both Ability PT clinics. She has her BS from Upper Iowa and her PTA degree from Kirkwood Community College. Before becoming a PTA, she served as office manager at the Ability Clinic in Mt. Vernon for 4 years. Jennifer is also a licensed massage therapist with 13 years of experience.

Brenda Naaktgeboren, LMT, graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in 2013. She has worked with many different types of clients from athletes to cancer patients and elderly. She enjoys helping people find a quiet space in their busy lives to relax, unwind, and breathe.

Lynda Johnson, is the office manager at Ability Physical Therapy in Center point. She has recently moved to the Cedar Rapids area from Chicago where she managed a Podiatrist office. She enjoys spending time with her family, as well as, cooking and biking during her free time.

Mount Vernon

Sarah Jones, is the Operations Manager for Ability Physical Therapy. She started in 2005 as the first licensed massage therapist when it was just Marion Physical Therapy. She has seen the company grow with additional locations and employees, but the professionalism and care have never changed and have always been outstanding since the day she started. When Sarah is not with her physical therapy family she enjoys spending time with her other family and friends…especially playing robots with her son.

Adam Clendenen, PT, DPT earned his B.S. degree from St. Ambrose university in May of 2019 while majoring in Exercise Science. Adam then returned to his hometown, Dubuque, Iowa, to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Clarke University where he graduated in May of 2023. Outside of work, Adam enjoys lifting, hiking, fishing, and watching the Hawkeyes.

Will Norman PT, DPT, COMT is an Iowa native who has been providing physical therapy services since 2017. He graduated from Clarke University in Dubuque, IA in 2017 and moved to Phoenix, AZ to begin his career. He has recently returned to the Cedar Rapids area with his wife, two kids, and two dogs. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing guitar, volunteering at church, distance running, and off-roading.

Jessica Lippens, PT, DPT, ATC earned her B.S. in Athletic Training in May of 2011 and Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2013 from Clarke University. She has worked in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy prior to starting with Ability Physical Therapy. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, bowling, and checking out the local wineries and breweries.

Taylor Connor B.S., PTA, Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Cornell College in 2015, where she also played volleyball and basketball during her 4 years. She then graduated with an Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Kirkwood Community College in 2018. She is originally from Mt. Vernon and lives there now with her Husband, Brit. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Traci Smith B.S., PTA, ACE-CPT Certified, Graduated in 2007 from Wartburg College with a BS in Fitness Management. She became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer in 2007 where she has enjoyed working with a wide variety of clients to help them to meet their goals. During her time at Wartburg she enjoyed playing Volleyball and Softball and went on to coach HS Volleyball. Traci Graduated in 2018 from Kirkwood Community College with her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree. She lives with her husband Jesse and 3 children Annabelle, Andrew, and Evan. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her kids, friends and family playing/watching sports and camping.

Dan Everts, B.A., PTA, graduated from Coe college in 2021 with a bachelors in Kinesiology and then attended the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Kirkwood Community College, graduating in 2024. Dan enjoys lifting, watching football and being outdoors. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school and injured his shoulder, which is when he became familiar with physical therapy. He was amazed at how much physical therapy helped in his recovery, which led him down this career path. Dan is now a physical therapist assistant at Ability PT in Mt. Vernon.

McKenzie Barber, LMT graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in August of 2023. She really enjoyed her time in school and is looking forward to helping others through Swedish, deep tissue, and neuromuscular therapies. McKenzie lives nearby with her husband Derek and two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys time boating on the Waspi and golfing with her husband.

Hayes Houdeshell, Hayes Houdeshell is office manager in our Mt. Vernon location. She joined Ability in Jan 2019. She enjoys getting to know all of the local small town people! Outside of work Hayes enjoys biking, spoiling her niece Elsa and nephew Jory, riding in their boat at Lake Delhi and cheering on the Hawks with her husband Tyler!

Megan Decker graduated from Anamosa High School in May of 2022. She's currently enrolled at Kirkwood Community College to finish Associates degree in liberal arts. Megan would like to obtain her certificate to become a personal trainer in the near future. In her free time, she enjoys lifting, going on walks, boating, jet skiing, and hanging out with friends and family. Megan will be providing office support at the Mt. Vernon location.

Ben Martens, PTA, NSCA-CPT graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2007 and joined the Ability team in 2020. He enjoys helping people of all ages and abilities return to their normal functional level. Ben has worked with outpatient orthopedics since 2007, and has also taught a wide range of exercise classes including: strength training, kickboxing and yoga, and does personal training. While not in the office Ben is the quarterback coach of the Linn-Mar Lions football team. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children as much as he can.

Brianna Gorton, A.A.S., PTA, graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate’s degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2021 and has worked in a skilled nursing setting as a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past year. Bri plans on furthering her education by becoming a certified personal trainer. In free time she plays volleyball and enjoys aquatic activities with her son. She’s looking forward to being a part of the Ability Physical Therapy Marion team!
Christine Rippel, B.S., PTA graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Physiology: Exercise Science from The University of Iowa in 2018. She then graduated with an Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Kirkwood Community College in 2021. In addition to working as a PTA she is a dance instructor at a dance studio in Cedar Rapids and coaches the Marion High School Dance Team. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, read books and enjoy the outdoors.

Rachel Benton joined the Ability team in February 2023 and is now the Office Manager at the APT Marion location. She loves getting to know patients and cheering them on as they achieve their goals. When she’s not at work, Rachel enjoys reading, gardening, going for walks, and practicing yoga.

Annadee Betzer joined the Ability Physical Therapy team in February of 2022. and graduated from Central City High School in May of 2022. She lives at home enjoying time with her parents, Darrell and Jennifer, as well as her sister, Jayelee, and dog, Charlotte. Annadee loves to read, play various instruments, and cross stitch in her free time. ​​

Julio Vera Alvarez, LMT, graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in 2024. He specializes in therapeutic, deep tissue, muscle tensions and relaxation massage. Born in Mexico, Julio is bilingual in English and Spanish. He recently moved to Iowa from New York City with his family who is local to the area. Julio is also a dance fitness instructor with a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
Sarah Mulvihill, LMT, graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in 2012. She believes massage therapy is an essential component to help one achieve optimal well-being. She specializes in massage modalities ranging from specific therapeutic work to deep relaxation, all of which are individualized to achieve each client's goal.

Madison Parks, MATR, LAT, ATC graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with her Masters degree in Athletic Training in 2024. Athletics has always been a huge part of her life, which sparked her interest in pursuing Athletic Training. While attending UNI Madison played softball and dealt with injuries of her own, allowing her to see both points of view as an athlete and healthcare provider. Her knowledge on orthopedic injuries, prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation allow her to keep her athletes safe and healthy throughout their sports season. As a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Iowa, Madison is the athletic trainer for North Cedar High School and is wokring out of the Marion Elite Fitness.
​Tim Eilers, B.A., ACSM-CPT, PN-1 graduated from The University of Iowa with a major in Health Promotion and minor in integrative physiology. Some of his personal fitness experiences include playing football at Central College, playing rugby at Iowa and being a captain of the Trihawks Triathlon team at Iowa. Tim worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach at West Branch High School before being hired by Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids as a fitness trainer and their head trainer for their THRIVE cancer/exercise program, and continued that work with the YMCA in their LiveSTRONG program. Most recently Tim was the Fitness Director for Grand Living where he worked in a senior living facility, where he was a resource for all residents on their fitness and wellness. These experiences opened his eyes to how much positive impact exercise can have on a person, regardless of their fitness level, and it is his true passion working with others to reach their goals, regardless of range. You can find Tim at our Elite Fitness Marion location.

Center Point

Dylan Rippel B.S., PTA, Graduated with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018. Graduated recently from Kirkwood Community College with a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2021. Dylan currently lives in Vinton, IA but plans to move to surrounding CR area in the fall. In his free time Dylan enjoys spending time with friends and family while being outdoors, golfing and cheering on the Hawks.

Taylor McIntosh, LMT graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in February 2024, after discovering her passion to help people feel and move better. She also is a certified personal trainer and has a B.A in Psychology. In her free time she loves to go hiking with her 3 dogs, cooking, baking, working out and spending time with her husband and son. Taylor looks forward to working with the Ability Physical Therapy team!

Nichole Carlson, B.A., NSCA-CPT, is a nationally certified personal trainer. She graduated from Ashford University in 2014 where she competed in track and field at the national level. She joined the Elite Fitness team in January of 2015 and is now the Elite Operation's Manager of all Elite locations. She enjoys competing in all sports and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Denver Broncos.

Kira Chatterton, B.A, CSCS, PN2 graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science. She is a nationally certified fitness instructor who discovered her love for teaching and training others while instructing at the UNI Rec Center. She loves being able to work with people of all fitness levels to achieve their goals. She joined the Elite Fitness team in September 2017 and is excited for all the opportunities she will have as a part of the Elite Fitness Staff.

Solon

Tara Saul, PT, DPT, ATC, LAT, graduated with her BS degree in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Iowa in 2011. She then obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2014. She worked at an orthopedic center in Des Moines for 5.5 years before started at our Ability PT Solon office in May 2020. Her previous experiences in physical therapy drew her to the profession and she enjoys helping patients achieve their personal goals. Tara enjoys spending time outdoors and attending sporting events with her husband, Billy, and son, Logan.

Jennifer Kellogg, BS, PTA, LMT is a physical therapist assistant and works primarily out of our Solon clinic. She has her BS from Upper Iowa and her PTA degree from Kirkwood Community College. Sharon Marbeth, PTA graduated from the PTA program at Kankakee community college in Kankakee IL. She worked in healthcare fresh out of high school, was a CNA for 6 years, and transitioned to fulltime rehab tech for 3 years, which drove her decision to pursue a career as a PTA. Sharon has been a practicing PTA since October 2020, outpatient being her greatest area of expertise. Sharon moved to Lisbon, Iowa from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. (Joliet) with her daughter to reap the benefit of Iowa’s current affordable cost of living and excellent school systems. It’s been an adjustment being a city girl and learning small town life, but she’s falling in love with Iowa every day. Sharon has 12 siblings, enjoys singing, voice acting, and studying languages in her free time. Sharon will work out of the Solon office.

​Scott Ermer, LMT, recently retired from a 34 year career in education but had a calling to help others through personal health and wellness. Scott is an August 2023 graduate of Carlson College of Massage Therapy, a licensed Massage Therapist in Iowa as well as a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Through professional training, Scott has gained and practiced the skills to provide muscular therapy providing overall body relaxation, relieving muscle tensions and addressing muscular issues causing aches, pain and limited mobility. As one of Scott’s clients described him: “Scott is a mix of the heart of a teddy bear with the strength of the Incredible Hulk.” Scott looks forward to helping you improve your health and well-being through the healing therapies of massage.
​Kadie Gorsch is the office manager in our Solon office. Outside of work, Kadie enjoys going to football and baseball games with her husband, Joe, and their four kids Bentleigh, Tavian, Jaxon and Keegan. She also enjoy various outdoor activities with her family and pets.
​
Amanda Matthes is the office assistant at Ability Physical Therapy in Solon. Amanda has lived in Solon most of her life. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and their 90 pound fur baby, Simba, riding Harley’s with her fiancé, grilling out, trying new recipes over the summer, and hanging out with friends. Amanda has enjoyed becoming part of the Ability family and is excited to see where this new position will take her.
Cedar Rapids
Will Norman PT, DPT, COMT is an Iowa native who has been providing physical therapy services since 2017. He graduated from Clarke University in Dubuque, IA in 2017 and moved to Phoenix, AZ to begin his career. He has recently returned to the Cedar Rapids area with his wife, two kids, and two dogs. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing guitar, volunteering at church, distance running, and off-roading.​​​​​

Becca Weidner B.S., LAT, ATC is from the upper peninsula of Michigan. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Northern Michigan University in 2018. She moved to Iowa and joined Ability Physical Therapy in July of 2022. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their 4 dogs, working out, being outdoors, woodworking, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros.
